Cars by Ron Wade at WAAAM West
(Western Aeroplane and Antique Automobile Museum)

WAAAM West is a collection of cars including an auto dealership bulding and 3 acre property owned by Ron Wade.  In order to preserve the collection for generations to come, Ron has donated these assets to Terry Brandt's organization WAAAM.

Ron Wade

Over the last 50 years, Ron has owned hundreds of vehicles.  In the 1970's he made his "grocery list" of "dream cars".  Fast forward  40 years and the list is just about complete.  From a pair of fully restord 1931 Chrysler Imperials to his most recent purchase of a 2019 Ford GT,  WAAAM West "Cars by Ron Wade" is a collection of some rare American Classics, super cars and to keep things interesting he added a McLaren 720s to the mix.

Turning a passion into a successful business... Ron Wade is the owner of Chevs of the 40's which is the worlds most complete supplier of 1937 to 1954 Chevrolet Car and Truck parts
.

Chevs of the 40s has been a major source of Chevrolet restoration and street rod parts for over 32 years.
Over the years Ron and the Chev’s of the 40’s staff have restored and streetrodded many makes and models. They have taken this hands on experience, expertise and knowledge and compiled five different parts catalogs which are distributed all over the world.

“As a teenager I fell in love with the 1941 Chevrolet Cabriolet. I gathered parts for 18 years before starting the restoration. Because of this restoration “Chevs of the 40’s” was born and started in a rented room with parts under my bed.” – Ron Wade

Ron's 1941 Chevrolet Cabriolet was fully restored in 2000. It has won many awards including the prestigious Vintage Chevrolet Club of America Best of Show award, at Springfield Illinois. The really unusual aspect of this car is that it wears 50 factory options or accessories.

Terry Brandt

WAAAM founder and president, Terry Brandt, started his love of flying at a very early age.
Terry's mother and father served as the FBO (fixed base operator) at the airport in Marysville, California, and also ran a flight school there for a number of years. Terry's father also built between 200 and 300 crop dusters, and was particularly fond of soaring in gliders.

Given the environment he grew up in, it didn't seem strange to anyone at the time that Terry learned to fly when he was only 12 years old.  Nor did it seem strange that he bought his first airplane at the age of 19 — a 1938 J-3 Cub. Ever since then, he's been an avid collector and aviation enthusiast.

Terry continued to collect antique aircraft and memorabilia over the last 50 years, and in 2006 he decided he would have to make one of two choices — either he would have to have a very large auction, or he would have to find a way to ensure his collection would survive by building a museum.
Fortunately for all of us, he chose the latter, and donated his collection to the museum.
Now, in just a few short years, many more aircraft have been added to the museum, and the collection of antique automobiles is now equally as impressive as the collection of antique planes.

Terry now resides in Hood River, Oregon with his wife Lois. He remains extremely active in the business of running the museum and he still enjoys flying. Terry hopes that others who have antique aircraft and automobiles will find that WAAAM is a safe haven to both preserve them and show them off.
